Daniel Lofredo Rota
"Mothership"

The source of all absurdity; the mother of complication. “Mothership” is an abstract visual allegory of the current state of our ever complicating, self-referential civilization. An improvisational wall animation of massive proportions, this film takes place in a space that cannot be placed, and is directed towards those who look at the current state of our world and can't help but be astonished at the purity of its absurdity. Only masking tape and a DSLR camera were used in its completion, and, reaching 15 feet in width at its apex, 'Mothership” was born out of a truly creative and experimental use of resources. It's final form is a short film with a musical track tailored to it, but in combining music, drawing, photography, painting and mural installation it becomes a true multimedia work of art sure to strike the interest of artists, experimental filmmakers, and viewers from a variety of different backgrounds.
